Check the ionization electrode:

  • Distance from the burner cup
  • Electrode contamination

EA X X Burner malfunction Ionization current during calibration is outside the required range (too large deviation from the previous value) Check the flue gas system, remove the cause of flue gas recirculation if necessary. When operating with air suction, avoid high dust accumulation in the combustion air.

Press the reset button R.

After several unsuccessful reset attempts, replace the boiler encoding plug and press the reset button R.

Eb X X Burner malfunction Flame goes out during repeated calibration attempts Check the distance of the ionization electrode from the burner cup. Check the gas type assignment.

Check the flue gas system, remove the cause of flue gas recirculation if necessary.

Press the reset button R.

EC X X Burner malfunction Calibration parameters error Press the reset button R or replace the boiler encoding plug, then press the reset button R.
Ed X X Burner malfunction Internal error Replace the controller.
EE X X Burner malfunction No flame signal during burner startup or the signal is too weak Check the gas supply (gas pressure and flow sensor), check the universal gas regulator. Check the ionization electrode and connecting cable.

Check the ignition system:

  • Connecting cables for ignition components and ignition electrode
  • Electrode distance and contamination

Check the condensate drain. Press the reset button R.

EF X X Burner malfunction Flame goes out immediately after being formed (during the safety time) Check the gas supply (gas pressure and flow sensor). Check the flue gas/air inlet system for recirculation of flue gases.

Check the ionization electrode (replace if necessary):

  • Distance from the burner cup (see page 23)
  • Electrode contamination

Press the reset button R.

F0 X X Burner lock Internal error Replace the controller.
F1 X X Burner malfunction Flue temperature limiter activated Check the filling level of the heating installation. Bleed the system.

Press the reset button R after the flue gas system has cooled down.

F2 X X Burner malfunction Temperature limiter activated Check the filling level of the heating installation. Check the circulation pump. Bleed the system. Check the temperature limiter and the connecting cables.

Press the reset button R.

F3 X X Burner malfunction Flame signal present during burner startup Check the ionization electrode and connecting cable. Press the reset button R.

If the malfunction persists, replace the controller.
